Projects 2011

2011-4Organization of 6. International conference DEMSEE (International Workshop on Deregulated Electricity Market Issues in South-Eastern Europe)

In September 2011, members of LPEE brought to an end one-year organizational tasks needed for the annual DEMSEE event, taking place in Hotel Golf, Bled, Slovenia. Conference topics covered a wide range of issues, relevant to power system operation in south-eastern Europe region. Conference attended approximately 100 delegates from all over the world and more that 70 high-quality scientific and research papers were presented. The media coverage of the event was performed by Energetika.net.

2011-5

2011-1Determination of set of elements of Slovenian electric-power system according to the share of the transit active power-flow as a result of a cross-border electricity trading.

Client: ELES, d.o.o.Pr2011Pretoki delavne Moči

The goal of the project is to build a computer software for external control of simulation software NEPLAN to automatically calculate the enlargement of active power-flow due to cross-border electricity trading. The program prepares proper input files, runs NEPLAN and saves the results into a common file that is applied in graphical presentation of Slovenian electric-power system in computer program VISIO. In the scope of the project the newly developed software was used to determine the set of elements that are affected by the transit active power-flow.

2011-2Analysis of possibilities of fault-current limitation in Slovenian electric-power system

Client: ELES, d.o.o.

Transmission and primary distribution networks should be continuously reinforced due to the increase of consumption. With the reinforcement also the short-circuit power of the network increases, consequently it is possible that the capacity of switching equipment or the capacity of substations is exceeded. The goal of the project is to determine the short-circuit powers for future states of Slovenian electric power system and to research possible solutions for short-circuit power limitation. In order to limit short-circuit power topological measures and devices for fault-current limitation are presented.
