Urban Rudež received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2005 and 2011, respectively. After finishing his graduate study he worked with the Korona company in Ljubljana for 2 years as a system engineer in the Department for Power Engineering. In 2007 he joined the Department of Power Systems and Devices at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, where he still works as a researcher and assistant professor. His areas of interest include mainly power-system modelling, power-system dynamic simulations, HVDC and wide area measurement, protection and control applications (PSS®NETOMAC, NEPLAN, RSCAD, Matlab). In 2011 he received Vratislav Bedjanic award for his PhD thesis and award for the contribution at sustainable development presented by Slovenian Research Agency.
